Annie Taylor of Atlanta, BAG Recipient

Annie Taylor was diagnosed in October 1999 with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and developed lymphedema in her right arm and left leg as a result of the disease and subsequent treatment, leaving her disabled from reduced mobility, in increased pain, and unable to care for her grandchildren. Her therapist, Kim Mainer, OTR/L, CLT-LANA, recommended her as a candidate for a grant from the LLN BAG (Bandages and Garments) Fund. Her grant paid for reduced cost pantyhose compression stockings from A  Woman's Place at Northside Hospital. This garment, as a critical component of continued therapy, made a tremendous difference in her progress, Annie is very grateful to the LLN for supplying her with this first garment after treatment.

Annie learned about the Lighthouse Lymphedema Network, and is a very enthusiastic supporter of the patient information provided there. She is currently enrolled with the Georgia Department of Labor-Vocational Rehabilitation, and looks forward eagerly to re-entry in the job market, and continued good response to therapy and being able to buy proper compression garments for the future.
